Truett Massey
Truett has been involved with volleyball for 13 years. As a player he has competed in several national events on men’s teams all over the country. In men’s doubles, he has won a national championship, finished 2nd, 4th, and 5th. He has also placed 3rd in an AVPNext event with partner Will Carson. He has also won many other local and regional tournaments as a competitor. He continues to compete in semi-pro and pro-am events across the country, pursuing a career as an AVP beach professional. As a coach, Truett has been involved with many successful juniors’ teams, qualifying for nationals in both open and club divisions. Truett has run many clinics all over the Texas Panhandle for a variety of high school and club programs, and is considered one of the best individual and team coaches in the area.
Will Carson
Will has been coaching a variety of sports for 19 years. He was named a Collegiate All-American in college and began playing competitive volleyball while attending college. He has competed on men’s teams across the country. In doubles, he has won a co-ed event in Austin, placed 3rd in an AVPNext event with partner Truett Massey, and has won many other local and regional doubles events. He continues to compete in semi-pro and pro-am events across the country, pursuing a sports career as an AVP beach professional. As a coach, Will has qualified teams for national competition in various sports, and has worked during the summer, coaching all over the country. As a volleyball coach, will has assisted with several area high school teams, including a high school national champion team. He has also assisted at the collegiate level. In club, Will has coached or assisted with several successful juniors’ teams, qualifying for nationals in the club division. He has also completed his CAP level I training and has attended the National High Performance Coaches conference, working out with the Olympic coaches and several top Division I coaches. Will assists with the Sun Country Region High Performance program and is asked regularly to help with collegiate summer volleyball camps for a Top 25 Division I team.
Club Philosophy
The Panhandle Volleyball Players Club is a junior developmental volleyball program for youth, ages 10-18.
We are dedicated to providing high quality training with a great coaching staff at all levels.
Our athletes have the opportunity to train for and compete at local, regional and national levels.
We proudly say that we have been extremely successful at all levels of competition.
It is our main goal to provide a solid foundation of fundamentals to enable participants to develop,
not only as players, but as young adults as well. This competitive athletic experience will enhance their
social development and contribute to their future mental and physical health. PVP strives to provide an
environment which promotes and instills such values as self discipline, confidence, responsibility,
sportsmanship and team work.
